Spindrift was conceived as a warm and inviting microbrewery inspired by the timeless charm of traditional English pubs. The client's vision was to create a destination that felt intimate, nostalgic, and socially engaging—a place where conversations could flow as naturally as the craft beer itself.
Drawing from classic English pub aesthetics, the interiors feature rich timber finishes, detailed wall panelling, vintage-inspired lighting, exposed brick surfaces, and a warm earthy palette. Carefully planned seating clusters create a variety of experiences, from intimate corners for small groups to larger communal spaces that encourage social interaction. At the heart of the space is a 36-foot-long bar, designed as a strong architectural focal point reminiscent of old-world taverns, complemented by soft ambient lighting and subtle brass detailing.
One of the defining features of the project was celebrating the brewing process rather than concealing it. The brewery was enclosed within glass, allowing visitors to experience beer production as part of the interior. Coordinating the concealed 'python pipe' that transports freshly brewed beer from the brewery to the bar presented a significant technical challenge, particularly with the project located on the fifth floor of a shopping mall. Through careful planning and coordination, the layout integrates brewing, service, and seating into a seamless hospitality experience that combines traditional pub character with contemporary functionality.
